And now... a message from the COMPOSER!
Hello Friends!
Matt here! This is just a gentle reminder that nobody gets rich (or even makes a living) off of published sheet music in this day and age. In fact, composers often spend hundreds of hours writing, editing, arranging, orchestrating, uploading, marketing, and selling a single piece of music at a small price, only for a huge chunk of the profits to be taken by the retailer with the composer getting whatever crumbs are left over... So, I'm sure you can imagine why illegal photocopying and distribution can feel quite frustrating and even soul-crushing at times to us lowly, struggling artists! 😮💨😅
Composers like myself rely on honest customers like you to do things the proper, legal way. This way, your friendly neighborhood composer (Hey that's ME!!!), can pay their bills, buy their groceries, and have enough time and resources to keep writing music for you and your ensemble for years to come!!! 😍
Now that I'm done ranting... Check out my music below! All my sheet music and scores can be purchased on SheetMusicDirect, SheetMusicPlus, and J.W. Pepper. While you're there, be sure to check out my professionally produced Accompaniment Tracks so you can spend less time plunking notes at the piano and more time focusing on the sound of your ensembles. Questions? Feel free to send me a message on my Contact Page. I'd love to hear from you!
With love and deepest appreciation,
Matt 😊❤️
CHORAL
Our Voices Make a Symphony
Unison with Piano and Optional Orchestra
Commissioned by the Portland Symphony Orchestra and the PSO Children's Chorus in 2026, this piece for young singers tells us that we all can achieve whatever we put our minds to. And, no matter what we set out to achieve, we don't have to do it alone. When we work together as a team, not only can we combine our skills and strengths to become greater than the sum of our parts, but we can also rely on one another and lift each other up. When we unite our efforts, that's when we have the power to truly change the world. Or, as the lyrics state in a most musically metaphorical way:
"When we come together and join in the sound, our voices make a symphony!"
